Why are most traditional archery strings special order?

One common question we get here at OPAS is why don't we stock recurve strings. The short answer is that they're are many different string options between length and material and stocking them would be easy if we could order them in bulk. Unfortunately, all manufacturers that we've bought bulk orders through have very poor quality control and almost always end up being unusable for one reason or another. In the sporting goods industry as a whole, traditional archery tends to fall by the wayside within the larger manufacturers. Therefore, we are limited to making them ourselves right here in Middlefield, or ordering them from Rogue Bowstrings in order to get a high quality string that will actually fit your bow.
